Wedding Day

One last talking point from Spider-Man 2. As I said, it was overly satisfying. The very last line was just that. MJ telling Spidey, "Go get 'em Tiger." This was so satisfying because it's one of those trademark phrases from the cartoon I watched growing up, but also because the scene represents a valuable picture of good gender roles. MJ bestows masculinity to Spidey, and as he goes to chase the sirens he does so with renewed strength and vigor. His masculinity is confirmed by the woman he loves and that pushes him above and beyond what he could do on his own.
Today I'm the Best Man. But for some reason, it's my best friend who's getting married. ;) As his accountability partner and best friend, I've seen how a woman of God can strengthen and encourage a man. It is a beautiful example of how God created male and female in His image. The roles that He has determined for us lead to His glorification and mirror His beauty and excellence.
Mike & Diana Rose, may the marriage be long and fruitful, and a blessing in His sight.
